We will be sponsoring Connecting Women in District Heating Conference 2020

Our experts Odessa Ahmed (Business Development Manager) and Hannah Abbas (Customer Support Manager) have been members of ‘the Divas’ right from the beginning, and we are so excited to be sponsoring the event for the second year in a row.

“I enjoyed last year’s conference, it didn't follow the typical norms of an industry event which is what made it refreshing, exciting and why it is still discussed a year on! It was great  to meet so many people within the industry, understand their roles and see the passion  they have for what they do!”

This year we’re sponsoring the District Heating Divas’ conference again because we believe through their ‘Heat Exchanger Mentoring Pilot’ and regional Diva networking meetups across the country, the group is achieving positive change across our industry.

Our sponsored session at this year’s event will explore how some of our own experts started  a career in the District Heating industry.

We know that because heat is a growing industry, young people and especially young women are not always aware district heating is an industry worth pursuing. This also means that they are not aware of the career satisfaction that can be gained in this incredible sector. In our teams’ experience this ranges from the happiness of providing residents with best-in-class customer service, the responsibility of educating the general public on new energy systems, or the gratification of providing solutions for smarter living… which will play a big role in striving for a net-zero future.

Our experts Gina Carrington (Project Delivery Lead), Angie Cierpka (On-Boarding Manager),  Ruby Friel (Product Owner) and Odessa Ahmed (Business Development Manager) will discuss their own experiences working in district heating, and how they got to their role!

The session will explore how each of the team have grown inside the district heating  industry, alongside the challenges they have faced along the way. We will discover their  own motivations and ambitions for staying in this industry, as well as the advice they would  give to someone thinking about starting a career in heat networks.

We at Sycous cannot wait for this year’s conference. Even though things are moving online,  we know the event will be one of the most memorable in our industry.

This year you will be able to catch the Sycous team’s sponsored session at 12:30 PM – 1:15  PM, 10th December at the District Heating Divas Conference.

Find more about us online:  sycous.com and connect with us in the sponsors’ section of the online conference platform Whova.
