Developing a workforce to deliver the UK's net zero future

Here at Vital, we’re committed to helping organisations across the UK on their journey to net zero and developing the key industry skills required to create a sustainable workforce for our future.

Last year we introduced our brand new bespoke renewable energy and heat network apprenticeship programme, in collaboration with The City of Liverpool College, and we’re excited to welcome our second cohort of apprentices this September for two pathways: Craft and Technical.

Both pathways take apprentices on an energy journey where they discover how energy is generated, distributed and managed and how consumption can be reduced using the latest technologies and products for residential and commercial clients. They also learn how carbon reduction is achieved through the installation of renewable technologies and innovative products, which we have developed and manufactured in house.

With offices in Blackburn, London, and Glasgow, we recruit apprentices from across the UK to work on our exciting projects and learn the skills required to help shape the country’s path to net zero. Harvey Hudson is a member of our first cohort of apprentices who started last year, and he shares an insight into what he gets up to during a typical day in the office in this short video.

Tune into the Opening Plenary at 10am where Gemma Dyson will be talking about our apprenticeships, and how we’re making climate education a vital education within our local communities.
